Is the mileage real?

The MOT history knows. Put the reg in.

Every MOT records the mileage on the clock that day. We line them up and check the advert against them, so a car that's been wound back shows up before you've left the house.

Free, no sign-up. Official DVLA and DVSA data.

Example: the MOT trail against the advert

    2023202420252026118,432Advert 82,000

Every MOT reading climbed. The advert's figure sits 36,000 below the last one. That car's been wound back, and the free check saw it from the reg alone.

    How it works.

A real inspection on a real car, in 25 seconds.

    1. Put the reg in

The free check reads its MOT history, the mileage at every test, tax and recalls. About 20 seconds.

    2. Inspect it at the viewing

The app walks you round the car on your phone: the bodywork, the dashboard, a listen to the engine. About 15 minutes.

    3. Get the report

Every fault priced for your area, what it's worth as it stands, and the message to send the seller.

    What you get

    • The mileage at every MOT, on a line you can read at a glance
    • A warning when the advert's figure is below a recorded one
    • Miles a year, so a "low mileage" claim can be checked
    • The ex-taxi pattern, when the MOT gaps give it away

    Questions

Can the MOT history be wrong?
A tester can mistype a reading, so one odd figure isn't proof. A figure that falls and stays down is the pattern to walk away from.
What about cars under three years old?
They haven't had an MOT yet, so there's no trail. Ask for the service invoices and compare the readings on those.
Does this replace a history check?
No. Finance, theft and write-offs are the history check (£9.99). Mileage is the one thing the MOT history does better.
